Want to be a Helper?
Everyday Counselors Training
The Everyday Counselors training program will help you be a better counselor and supporter of your fellow strugglers. The Bible says that we are to bear one another’s burdens. We can do that by listening, encouraging, praying for, and sharing God’s Word. We want to see people become ‘everyday counselors.’ This cohort based program will connect you with others who are working through their own struggles even as we work to support one another. The next cohort of Everyday Counselors will start in the fall. Email Pastor Kyle Edwards for more information (kedwards@htcchicago.org).

Goals
-
HTC Counseling hopes to make it easier for normal people to talk about normal struggles. We all struggle, but some of our struggles are harder to talk about than others. C.S. Lewis once said, “it is easier to say ‘My tooth is aching’, than to say ‘My heart is broken’.” When we admit to depression, anxiety, marriage problems, or other trouble, other people don’t always know what to do or say and oftentimes speak or act in unhelpful ways.
-
HTC Counseling wants to make it as easy as possible for people to get support by connecting you to the right type of counseling.
-
No one should be unable to receive help because of finances.
-
This ministry wants to train people to be better helpers to fellow strugglers. The Bible says that bearing other’s burdens, listening, encouraging, praying for, and sharing God’s word is something we can always grow in. We want to see people become ‘everyday counselors.’
